Meet winston
Winston
Breed: Staffordshire Terrier cross
Age: 2-3years
Sex: Male
Could live with another dog: ✅
Could live with children: ✅
Could live with cats: not tested
Winston is a devoted companion. Previously abandoned by his owner, he had a habit of singing when he was left in his crate; he is now ok at night and happily settles down until the morning.
Winston shows some signs of separation anxiety when left by his favourite human and jumps up at the door to check where he’s gone or sitting on the back of the armchair to get the best view out of the window. Winston is friendly with other people and if you have food, in which case he’ll love you forever!
Winston’s generally quite obedient. He walks to heel and is off lead on walks in the woods. Winston is fine with other dogs and wants to play. He travels well in the car and his favourite things are sitting with you and being stroked, will chase a ball especially a squeaky one and to play tug over his toys.
Winston has a heart issue, a severe case of Pulmonic Stenosis, which basically means he has a significant blockage in his heart and he has been prescribed beta blockers.
The generosity of our supporters means that we have raised funding for his ongoing medical care (either ongoing scans and medication or surgery, a balloon valvuloplasty and potentially the implant of a stent). There’s a significant risk in the surgery, as there’s been limited successful operations.
We are now seeking a long term home for Winston and DWTW rescue will continue to support with his care due to his heart condition.
Winston is seeking a home where people are around much of the day and can take him to his medical checkups.
Winston really does deserve his happy ever after as despite his medical issues is a fabulous boy who’s very loving. Please share and let’s find Winston his forever home. We would also consider long term fosterers as well as adoptions.
To apply for Winston please complete an application via the link below. Adoption fee applies and 5 weeks free insurance is included in the adoption package.
