Meet ROSIE
Rosie
Sex - Female Spayed
Size - Medium
Breed - Cocker Spaniel
Age - Approx 10yrs old
Can Live with dogs - ✅
Can live with cats - ✅
Can live with children – ✅ (older children)
Rosie joined us back in April after being picked up as a stray by the local dog warden. Even at approximately 10yrs old she had clearly been used as a breeding dog and was in poor condition. Although Rosie is an older dog she is still active and loves attention, cuddles and a lap to curl up on. Rosie has had multiple surgeries (spay, dental and cancerous lump removed) over the last few months but has always remained her usual happy waggy self (her tail never stops wagging) during recovery. She is such a brave and resilient girl.
Rosie is good with other dogs and currently lives in foster with an older Labrador. She is such a gentle soul and is fine with cats. Although fine with children we wouldn’t place her with young children due to her age and that she is looking for a quieter life. Rosie walks lively on lead but being a typical spaniel she love a good sniff. She has a good recall off lead and is treat motivated when out on walks. Although we do query her hearing being an older girl and her foster has started teaching her hand signals. She likes to have a play and loves her ball which she carries around with her.
Rosie can be a food thief if food is in reach (including on work tops or in the bin) so this will need to be continued to be managed in her new home. Rosie travels well in the car and is 99% house trained with the very occasional accident.
Rosie is such a sweetheart and everyone adores her. Could you find a place in your home for this older girl?
