Meet Max
Sex: Male
Age: 3 Years Old
Size: Medium
Sadly, young Max finds himself looking for a new home. It would be great if we could find it for him before Christmas.
Three year old Max is looking for an active home, possibly with another playful dog or with doggy walking companions. He could live with older children 12+ and possibly dog savvy cats.
We are rehoming him from his current owners. Here’s what they say about him…
Max has been with us for 18 months and we are heartbroken to have to rehome him, but very sadly, as our senior dog has got older, he has started finding Max too stressful to live with, and at 13, we need to put his health and wellbeing first. Max would be best homed with younger, confident dogs who he can play with, or if homed as an only dog, to have doggy friends he can meet up with for walks and play.
Max is a cracking little dog who loves to learn new things. He will need a home with someone who will do lots of fun work with him - tricks, parkour, agility, scentwork, mantrailing, search and rescue etc. He is very clever and has an amazing nose and he loves to work.
He is very affectionate and loves a fuss and cuddle and will let you know if you are not paying him enough attention! Max has some behavioural issues in the house, some of which are most likely attention seeking (stealing and destroying things) and also reactive barking, which will need to continue to be worked on. He has already improved in many ways and with the right boundaries, patience, persistence and time I’m sure he will improve further.
Max walks beautifully on the lead and sleeps all night in his crate. He does need to be crated if left in the house or he can be destructive, but he is very happy in his crate so it’s not a problem to leave him for 4 or 5 hours.
