Meet Boomer
Sex: Male
Age: 8 Months
Size: Medium (when fully grown)
Ideal Home: Adult only, or older, calm children (teenagers). Experienced dog owners.
Boomer arrived in the UK at the end of October 2020.
He enjoys a bark if left unchecked but this is being worked on while in foster. He likes to be with people, once his initial shyness and anxiety is conquered, so would ideally suit someone who is at home. He sleeps well through the night and has been left alone in the company of another dog for up to 3hrs with no issues. He is clean and dry in the house, travels well in the car, loves cuddles on the sofa and playing with toys.
Boomer is still a young lad and going through the chewing stage so needs plenty of suitable chews/toys to occupy him. He has been crate trained to help reduce his anxiety when people come to the house. Boomer is initially reserved and nervous when meeting other dogs and new people both in the home and out and about. This results in him barking when he first meets people/dogs. It is currently being managed with proper introductions and he enjoys to play but can sometimes get a little over stimulated. He has shown some guarding behaviour around food and toys with other dogs when at home so would suit an experienced person where this can continue to be managed.
Boomer would suit an adult only household or one with older children (teenagers). He aims to please and is keen to learn. During his time in foster Boomer has learnt basic commands, walking on and off the lead and has a reasonable recall. His training will need to be continued in his new home.
